Meeting Melissa for the first time it is very clear to see that being a Doula is her passion and her calling. Her enthusiasm, knowledge and encouragement empowered us to explore all our birthing options and for us to ultimately choose to have a home water birth. She provides invaluable support and advice throughout your whole pregnancy but is during your labour that she absolutely shines!! Melissas constant reassurance to you and your partner, be it through words of encouragement, providing massage through contractions to simply holding your hand gives you the confidence to stay focused & calm when the going gets tough. She also quietly captures your precious moments with her gorgeous photography so you can cherish the memories forever. The birth of our baby boy was the most amazing beautiful experience for myself, my partner and also our daughters. It was everything we wanted it to be and more. To be continued********* Trudi & Kym

My birth was truly the most amazing experience of my life! It filled me with a sense of achievement I?ve not matched, nor ever expect to. Knowing I gave birth to him in only 2 wonderful hours (unlike the 14 hell-ish hours of my first birth) still gives me a warm-fuzzy feeling. I credit our doula Melissa for having an amazingly huge and vital impact on my birth experience. During the hours we spent together through my pregnancy Melissa helped me address issues and fears I had surrounding birth. She helped my mindset and enabled, encouraged and empowered me to achieve exactly the kind of birth I?d dreamt of! A truly enjoyable experience Kimberlee

Whatever I write about Melissa, it still wont be enough. I cant put into words what she did for me and my family, but I will try???I found Melissa on my journey to VBA2C. Living in a fairly isolated area with minimal choice for birthing services, I was overjoyed and relieved that she agreed to support my journey and birth. Anyone that?s been on a VBAC journey or had a c-section will know what an emotional journey it can be. Melissa supported me in times when I felt defeated and down, she brought my spirits up again and enabled me to focus on the birth ahead. She gave me so much strength and I will always value what she did for me. Her experience of birth and VBAC was wonderful and gave me inspiration. My journey was a road filled with potholes! Unfortunately my journey ended in repeat surgery. I chose to have Melissa in surgery with me. Once again, she was amazing, she supported me right up to end. She held my hand while my son was born and advocated my wishes for me. Liz

I used Meliss's services as a doula for my third child. The best thing I ever did. I just wish I new about this service when I had my first child and wish she was a doula back then. Anything you wanted to know or find out about or any concerns you have she will get the info for you to make sure you make a really informed decision about what you want for the birth of your baby. I highly recommend her services to anyone, whether it?s your first or third child you are having. Its the best thing I did. Julie-Anne

"I was lucky enough to have Melissa support me during the birth of my third child. Melissa was fantastic. We got in contact towards the end of my pregnancy and Melissa was willing to travel a fair distance to meet with me and attend my birth, Melissa helped me write my birth plan and also discussed many breathing techniques and birth ways. She was very friendly and made sure to she kept in contact with me regularly during the last part of my pregnancy. When it was time for the birth Melissa was fantastic, when she arrived I was already in well established labour (I labour very quickly) and she knew what to do instantly. She had prepared a special massage oil and was fantastic massaging my back. I knew she was there and she was reassuring the whole time. I found her to be fantastic and would recommend her to anyone who wishes to have a doula at their birth. Thank you Mel for being there for my husband and myself. Venessa xxxoooxxx

Being pregnant with my first child I was quite afraid of the unknown of labour and birth. I was very lucky that my mum had read the write up about the doula service that Melissa was providing in our area, at the beginning I was quite skeptical to phone and enquire - but I decided that I would take a chance and phone. I have to admit that it was one of the best decisions I had made. Melissa arrived at my side quite early in the first stages of my labour. Her constant encouragement and massages helped me get through the worst part of the labour and I believe that the different positions that she recommended helped speed up my labour. My husband and I believe that the physical and emotional support that she gave us helped me have such a problem free and smooth labour. I found her amazing and highly recommend her.
